The University of Virginia football program picked up a big-time commitment in the class of 2020 on Tuesday (April 30), when Rivals and 247Sports Composite 4-star offensive lineman Jimmy Christ announced his pledge to head coach Bronco Mendenhall and company.

The 6’7”, 285-pound Christ, a Dominion High School (Sterling, VA) product whose brother, Tommy, is a rising redshirt sophomore defensive lineman at UVA, announced his college decision via Twitter.

“First, I would like to thank God for surrounding me with great people to put me in this situation,” Christ wrote in the below tweet. “Secondly I would like to thank Karl Buckwalter for coaching me and helping so much in the recruiting process. I would also like to thank Eddie Mason and everyone at Mase Training for training me throughout the years and developing me into a better man. Lastly I would like to thank my old coaching staff as well as my new coaching staff for pushing me to always get better. After constant prayer and talking with my parents, I have decided that I am going to play with my brother at the University of Virginia!”

Jimmy has been a frequent visitor to UVA since his brother arrived in the class of 2017. His most recent visit took place last weekend, when he took an official visit to Charlottesville. Jimmy also made official visits to Oklahoma and Notre Dame before coming to his decision. Additionally, he considered scholarship offers from Clemson, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Stanford, among many more.

Christ was a Class 4 first-team all-state selection last season as a junior.

UVA now boasts four commitments in the class of 2020, including two offensive line pledges. Check out the full list below, and stay tuned to for more on this big news soon.
