Virginia released its basketball schedules. The countdown clock dipped below 40 days. Much more excited than those people that put out Halloween or Christmas decorations early (perhaps?), Hoo fans have started to eagerly anticipate the start of hoops season this week.
UVA opens the men’s basketball season on Monday, Nov. 6 against Tarleton State at 7 p.m. at the John Paul Jones Arena. The women’s team then hosts its opener on Wednesday, Nov. 8 against Maryland Eastern Shore at 7 p.m. The two teams combine for 9 home games in November so there will plenty of chances soon to watch some Hoo hoops.
The Sabre dove into the schedules in this article. Another two articles also started to look more closely at the Virginia basketball season ahead. This one focused on some thoughts from an early men’s practice video, while this one focused on how a pair of transfers might impact the season outlook. CBS19, meanwhile, talked about the growing hype locally for the UVA women’s team.
Fans, of course, have had plenty of basketball on their minds too. The men’s basketball board ripped off multiple threads this week focused on the season and hopes for another good year. Check out some of the highlighted conversations:
